Judge Don and Debra Higginbotham Scholarship Guidelines

The award amount for the Judge Don and Debra Higginbotham Scholarship

is $10,000 per academic year.

Based on successful progress,

the scholarship is eligible for renewal

upon request for up to four years.

The Foundation Scholarship Committee established the following criteria for the scholarship.

Scholarship recipient must:

  • Be a Williamson County High School Graduate

  • Be a veteran or grandchild, dependent, or first degree relative (spouse, child, sibling) of a past or present member of the U.S. Armed Forces 

  • Be a resident of the State of Texas eligible for in-state tuition

  • Be admitted to a regionally accredited Texas institution of higher education or vocational school (by time of funds disbursement)

  • Enroll for a minimum of nine semester credit hours

  • Have a high school GPA of 2.75 at the time of graduation

Renewal awards may be received for 7 additional semesters. To be eligible for renewal consideration, the recipient must maintain enrollment each long semester in 9 semester credit hours and maintain a GPA of 2.75.
